For Regina, brigadeiro holds sentimental value. She says the Brazilian candy has been present for many of life’s best moments including celebrations with family and friends, and that brigadeiro is simply part of the family. Brigadeiro reminds Jessica of her childhood in Brazil — going to birthday parties and getting in trouble for eating the sweet treats before cutting the cake. To her, brigadeiro is a symbol of love and celebration.
